  1. Granby Sadle Apron - If you’ve visited Mei Mei, chances are you’ll find me wearing this apron at work. I love it. It’s got the perfect-sized pockets for my pens, spoon, and notebook, and the adjustable straps mean it fits like a dream. It’s water resistant and softens slightly, so it just molds into your body shape over time.

£44 - Stone

2. Classic brown Stone Notebook - Probably the most used item in my kitchen at Mei Mei. I’ll probably be buying the team each one of these as they are such great value. The limestone pages are water and greaseproof, so perfect for having in the kitchen, making notes and reading from whilst cooking.

£18 - Stone

3. Microplane zester - Don’t laugh at me now. The number of times I’ve reached for my knife roll for a zester and haven’t been able to find one, or there is one and it’s so blunt and pointless. Microplane make the best zester and the ultimate tool for ginger, which I use a lot in my cooking.

£18 - Amazon

4. Asahi Rubber Cutting board - These chopping boards are perfect for avid cooks who want a hassle-free alternative to wooden boards without compromising on quality. Made in Japan, they feature a soft surface that’s gentle on your knives, paired with a sturdy weight to prevent slipping—unlike flimsy plastic boards. They’re low-maintenance and crafted from synthetic rubber, meaning no microplastics are shed during use. These boards are notoriously hard to come by, so I was thrilled to find a supplier on Amazon. But don’t wait too long—they’re in high demand and won’t stay in stock for long!

£75 - Amazon

5. Katto Chef Knife (above left)- I really wanted to include a knife in the gift guide but it was really hard to find an all rounder that was in a reasonable price range. Well, this knife does the trick. It looks gorgeous on the knife rack, you can select to have engraving (extra £) but I think this would make a wonderful gift for someone whos keen in the kitchen.

For the professional chef, I’d opt to go with All Day Goods knifes (above right), however these are a tad pricer, but if it’s in budget I’d go for the Forged Nakiri. A great all-rounder when you need to slice and dice a lot. These sharpen really well and hold an edge for longer. My team loves theirs.

£140 - Katto

£210 - All Day Goods

6. Typhur Instaprobe Core - I’ve been using my Typhur Instaprobe for weeks now and I love it. I love that it has clear, fast readings within 5 seconds and the bit that completely wins me over, is the integrated magnet on the back, so I can pop it on my fridge, out of the kids way, or when I’m at Mei Mei, i can leave it on the stainless steel wall , so handy! They’ve recently launched the Instaprobe core which reads at all angles, which is useful when your in an awkward position or need to reach over to get to whatever it is you’re probing. I still recommend the Sync Core series if you’re roasting meats, as they are wireless, but if you’re after a super fast reading probe, then gift one of these today for a bargain.

£59 - Typhur
