Please note these gift guides are affiliate linked but I've gone through the trouble of finding the best prices and links right here for you!*
1. Perello olives - These Spanish olives are delicious, but almost as delicious as the design of the tin, which I always make my husband keep afterwards so I can use for storing brushes and pencils, and it always brings me joy to look at! The olives are perfect snacks with a hint of spice from the chilli stuffed inside them. Perfect stocking filler or gift for a dinner party.
2. Pommery Mustard - A good mustard goes a long way, and you only need a little bit of this famous French mustard to liven up your dishes. I know my husband would always whip out the mustard to go alongside any of my roasts, so this will be perfect for the Christmas lunch. You can use for making a real fresh mustard salad dressing for January when we are all trying to lose that Turkey weight. Bonus it looks great on the table too. Double bonus if you also pick up the wholegrain mustard variety too.
3. Freja Bone Broth - Ever since I came across this product, I've been OBSESSED with it and it's now moved to one of my most used products in the kitchen. Did you know that stock cubes have little to no nutritional value? I dare you right now to go have a look at the back of those little dried-out cubes and see that there's barely any reason to be using those high-sodium processed cubes. Then Freja came along. This powdered form of bone broth is PACKED full of protein, collagen and nutrients so you get the benefits of real bone broth but without the fuss of spending hours making it. The packets Bonus: The mild flavour means I can add this to my children's food when I want them to have more protein, so in their smoothies, added into their macaroni cheese or when I want a warm drink that's not coffee. Try all their flavours or add a subscription to your order - so you'll never run out!
4. Mother Root - Ginger Switchel - My prediction for 2025 is going to be a huge surge in non-alcoholic offerings as we become more and more health conscious. Regardless of that, this non-alcoholic aperitif is fantastic. Expect zingy ginger, apple cider vinegar (so good for the gut!), mellow honey and lick of chilli heat. Perfect over ice with soda or sparkling water. Bonus if you select the artist duo - perfect gift for the mixology maestro at home.
5. Kaya Jam - If you're based in the UK you are in luck. My restaurant, mei mei, makes and produces kaya jam - a coconutty, sweet jam spread that makes the most authentic kaya toast in the comfort of your home. We do nationwide deliveries, and for Patreon members - you get a little discount on me. I'll be posting discount code to use this week. [Own brand/Ad]
6. Trio mini panettone - I can never finish a whole panettone but these mini ones are perfect for sharing, so taking the hassle out of choosing which flavour to get, you get pistachio, chocolate and a traditional. Excellent for Christmas.
This is the start of my gift guide series; if you like these suggestions or want more, comment below or share online!
7. Premium sashimi box for 8 - I thought I’d add this last minute to the gift guide for those who are tired of Christmas, advent calanders and fights started from Monopoly. This is the ultimate Christmas alternative gift to bring to dinner parties or to enjoy after all those roast dinners. I particually love that they include this aged-two year old soy sauce which is DELICIOUS as I have this in my cupboard. The sashimi kit should be enough for 8 to share and even comes with fresh wasabi and a grater to match! Perfect.
Merry Christmas x
